Tip 124: Phaco Tip Insertion
When inserting the tip through a relatively tight incision,
utilize a "to and fro" oscillating movement. Pay attention to
the infusion ports, the shoulders of which tend to get caught at the external
margins of the surgical incision.
By oscillating the tip as described, sudden entry of
the tip into the chamber is avoided, and the possibility of creating a
detachment of Descemet’s membrane is reduced.
